I hope all is well and you are re-boosted and ready for your week.
While I was sleeping, the Super Bowl was happening bringing people together even outside of the US. Media in Sweden has been reporting more than ever about it, and by now we all know why. Almost the first thought waking up in my head was “Did she make it? She did. And she stood by her man, infusing their relationship with buildable glue. All good! Happy for the happy couple and without knowing much about the teams at play; congratulations to the winners and well done to all the players of both teams.
In two days another important day involving relationship-building activities is Valentine’s. In Sweden, Valentine’s Day used to pass by almost like nothing. During the past ten years though it has taken a different place on the Swedish relationship scene. This year, I saw a tree filled with beautiful red hearts while walking outside by the lake in my hometown. I can not recall ever seeing these previous years in February.
Where does coffee play a role in all of this? Since The Brief is all about economics and geopolitical affairs I find it very mind-tingling to analyze and write to you about tools and means used for economic and international relationship building. Coffee is one of those tools. To keep The Brief brief, and still cover such a complex and layered topic, I am placing my analyses and thoughts into four editions, this being the first one.
